Episode 4 - The Body-Soul Connection, Part 2

Show Notes

Join Steve and Gwen for Part 2 of their interview with Dr. Randy James as he dives into the 4 cornerstones of his functional medicine practice: input, output, recovery, and relationships.

Input: Input definitely has to do with nutrition, but it’s also a lot more than that. Think about what is going into your eyes and ears as well.

Output: It’s easy to think of output from a “health” perspective as simply exercise, but it’s also more than that. When it comes to how your body and soul are connected consider what you are putting your time and money towards and find out what “spending vulnerability” means in the podcast.

Recovery: Sleep is our most obvious form of recovery, but we were made for much more than just giving our bodies a break. How is your soul resting and what role does sabbath play in a healthy body and soul?

Relationships: In the conventional care of our bodies this aspect of our lives is probably the most consistently ignored or under-examined. It’s important to ask yourself, not only about your physical self, but how are you doing with your inner-self? Do you have a good relationship with the voice inside your head? What about your relationship with God or your spouse?
