SHOW NOTES
Hosts Joe Chambers and Jeremy Frye sit down to discuss prayer – starting from a child’s point of view to what prayer means to us as adults. Listen in as Joe and Jeremy discuss how we all can transition from the conventional thinking of prayer towards a more contemplative approach.
Example of Prayer Practices
1. Reading of Prayers –Psalms, Ted Loder, Old Hymns, etc
2. Journal your prayers – write them out and review later
3. “Monkey’s in the tree,” aka the wandering mind – instead of trying to stop the mind from wandering, follow that wander and pray for where it takes you. Example – mind wanders to a meeting that day, just pray for that meeting.
4. Centering prayer –a form of prayer that tries to quiet scattered thoughts and help you be present with Christ.
