Potter’s Inn
Soul Care Residency
- Target Residents: The ideal candidates for the Soul Care Residency would be missionaries on furlough or leaving the field, pastor, ministry leaders and market place leaders in crisis or transition.
- Purpose:
- Throughout scripture, God has taken people away for an extended time of rest, recovery, spiritual deepening and preparation for the next phase of life and ministry.
- The residency program will provide a beautiful, safe and quiet place on 35 pristine acres in the Colorado Mountains to heal from past wounds and damage to their hearts, souls, relationships and vocations.
- What is it? The PI residency program would allow couples or an individual in a significant transition in life (missionaries back from the field, pastors in transition, couples in marital crisis) to have a safe place to:
- Process their life and journey,
- Become steeped in the rhythms of soul care,
- Receive regular spiritual direction
- Contribute to the needs of Aspen Ridge and the greater community.
- Length of stay: PI invites one or two couples to initially come and stay in one of the cabins for a minimum of 30 days with an option to extend their stay up to a maximum of 90 days. We believe this initial length of time will enable people to process their life more deeply and have an extended period of time (longer than a 5-day soul care intensive) to allow the seeds of transformation to begin to take root.
- What will they do?
- Begin to live for an extended period of time in transformational rhythm
- receive weekly spiritual direction and soul care with the PI staff
- Provide property and guest care at Aspen Ridge
- Participate on a weekly basis in a local mercy ministry in the area or the Springs (examples: food shelter in Divide, rescue mission in the Springs and/or start a spiritual formation group with college students in the area).
- Pursue a “study program” for their stay including specific books to read and process, journaling around their unique soul journey, vocational longings and healing the wounds of the past.
- Assist with any PI one-day retreats during their stay.
- What will it cost? This fee will cover lodging, utilities, weekly spiritual direction and soul care with PI staff. This does not include food. Please contact our Office to work out details as a price is quoted per “residency” and depends upon the seasons of the year, etc.
- Benefits of the Soul Care Residency
- Allows a safe place for couples/individuals to recover who are in transition and/or crisis needing extended soul care.
- Extended time of renewal and spiritual direction
