Stephen W. Smith: Co-Founder, President and Spiritual Director of Potter’s Inn Ministry. Educated at Lenoir Rhyne College, NC, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, KY; Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, IL. Steve has pastored churches in KY, NC and the Netherlands. As a speaker, spiritual director, author and companion, Steve offers soul care and spiritual direction through sessions and his published resources. Steve is married to Gwen and has four adult sons and two daughters-in -law. His d
og, Laz is a constant companion. Steve enjoys a cup of strong brewed coffee and a brisk walk on a trail near his home in Colorado Springs, CO.
Gwen Harding Smith: Co-Founder of Potter’s Inn. Educated at UNC in Nursing and Denver Seminary, CO. Gwen is a Registered Nurse and Spiritual Director. She is a retreat leader for women and offers spiritual direction and soul care. Married to Steve since 1980, and mother to four “men children” and two of their wives as daughters! Gwen enjoys dark, roasted, French Press coffee and a piece of dark chocolate in the afternoons.
David Sachsenmaier: Vice President of Ministry Development. David and his wife Margaret moved to Colorado Springs in 2009 with their six children. They are both graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and David also has a Masters in Divinity with a concentration in counseling. He has spent the last 25 years working in both banking and full-time pastoral and counseling ministries in the US, France and the UK. David helps lead retreats, meets with individuals and couples in Colorado Springs for counseling and spiritual direction and leads our new vocational ministry called Vocation Care. He loves spending time with his family, the great outdoors of Colorado and quality time with friends.

Rebekah Ormord: Retreat Coordinator/Office Manager. Educated at Manhattan Christian College in Kansas. Rebekah has worked in both ministry as well as the business world. Rebekah serves Potter’s Inn as the receptionist, office manager, bookkeeper, retreat coordinator and oversees all of the functions of Potter’s Inn. She is married to Adam, who is a worship pastor here in town, and has three boys and one girl at home. She enjoys all outdoor activities, especially hiking and bicycling. She loves any type of coffee and tea but especially Peppermint Mochas during the holiday season.
Adjunct Staff: Potter’s Inn works with several people who we have trained and worked along side of throughout the world. Our adjunct staff serves along side of us in various capacities.
